So why not take advantage of what’s on in your community? Here’s three Christmas experiences to tick off your Christmas list.
1. Wimbledon Christmas Market
As the rich smell of mulled wine and warm sugary pastries fills the air, let the festoon lights guide your way through the brilliant Wimbledon Christmas Market.
A wide variety of homewares, clothing, art and edible treats are on offer. So, if you’re looking for unique gifts this Christmas, you need look no further.
It’s a perfect way to support your local artisans and soak up the Christmas spirit. Also, if you’ve been in previous weekends, there are different traders each time, so no two market days are the same. Come again!
The market is open Friday to Sunday, 20–22 December, from 11am.
It’s open late on Friday (7pm) otherwise it closes at 6pm.
2. Wimbledon Christmas Pantomime
Is Christmas complete without a pantomime? (Oh no it isn’t!)
If you’re looking for something to do with all the family, a firm favourite, Cinderella, is presented by the New Wimbledon Theatre this year.
Showing until 5 January 2020, Cinderella stars Lesley Garrett, Samantha Womack (Eastenders), Melody Thornton (Pussycat Dolls) and returning to Wimbledon, magician/comedian Pete Firman.
With this talented cast, in this much-loved historic theatre, you can be certain it will be a magical and unforgettable experience.
Why not book and surprise your loved ones?
3. Wimbledon Christmas Service
If you’re looking for carols, connecting with others, and a deeper pondering of the reason of Christmas, why not try a church service in your area?
A warm welcome awaits you, so if you’d like to celebrate or just learn more about Jesus, let us recommend just one of the many churches around Wimbledon…
Right in the heart of town, next to Centre Court Shopping is the lively Everyday Church. A modern evangelical church, they are particularly prepared and delighted to welcome newcomers and visitors.
There are two services on 22 December (10.30am and 7pm) and a special service on Christmas Day (10.30am).
Whatever you do this Christmas, may it be merry and bright this year!
