The historic Young’s Brewery site in Wandsworth has been restored and transformed into 713 new homes.
Ram Quarter consists of ten contemporary apartment blocks which sit alongside the Grade II listed brewery complex, offering both residential and commercial space.
“A new heart for Wandsworth”
Homes&Property said “Famous for its low council tax, leafy commons and swish riverside apartments, Wandsworth’s weakness has been the absence of a town centre hub to appeal to families, singles and couples.”
Ram Quarter’s is said to be the new vibrant heart at the centre of Wandsworth Town.
No longer cut off to the public, the site’s listed buildings will be home to shops, bars and restaurants, gym operators and private nurseries, and exclusive loft-style apartments.
Playing to its brewery history, which dates back to the early sixteenth century, there will also be a craft microbrewery and heritage centre.
Ram Quarter: Inside and out
Ram Quarter has been developed by Greenland in collaboration with EPR Architects.
Greenland also developed Spire London in Canary Wharf, which is Europe’s tallest residential tower.
Greenland said, “With its open layout, riverside setting, easy connectivity within the site and to Wandsworth Town, Ram Quarter is an exciting new place for commercial business of all kinds.”
“We’re working with small independent businesses and larger well-known ones to create a social and cultural environment where people will love to spend time.”
Outside, there are private courtyard gardens for residents, and public footpaths and bridges which lead to open access to River Wandle.
